Australia won the toss first and elected bat first. Slowly started to get runs. Good partnership 72 runs made for first wicket. Michael Hussey made 81 (not out) and Ricky Ponting made 59 runs. Australia set 230 runs target for india.

India made 12 runs in the first over. Virender Sehwag failed to get runs. Sachin lose his wicket for good run out. Gautam Gambhir was bowled. At one stage, India lose top three wickets for 53 runs in 15.2 Overs. Yuvaraj Singh and M S Dhoni build 148 runs partnership for the 4th wicket and their outstanding performance to win india comfortably. Yuvaraj Singh made 78 runs and M S Dhoni made 71 runs (not out). India reached target 230 runs for 4 wickets in 48.2 Overs. India won by 6 wickets.
